- On September 18, 2008, at Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts, the Postal Service issued a 42-cent Bette Davis commemorative stamp in a pressure-sensitive adhesive pane of twenty stamps. Richard Sheaff of Scottsdale, Arizona, designed the stamp.
- This stamp is the fourteenth issuance in the Legends of Hollywood series. Artist Michael J. Deas of New Orleans, Louisiana, based his painting for the stamp on a black and white still photo of Bette Davis made during the filming of "All About Eve" (1950), in which Davis brilliantly portrayed aging Broadway star Margo Channing.
- Sixty million stamps were printed in the offset process with microprinting "USPS" by Ashton Potter (USA), Ltd.
