Ashley Rogers is the director of principal and planned gifts in the Smithsonian’s Office of Advancement, where she works with colleagues across the Institution to develop cross-cutting initiatives and realize transformational gifts of $5 million and above.

Before joining the Smithsonian in 2019, Rogers served as senior advisor for growth and strategy at the Fuller Project for International Reporting, building a robust fundraising program focused on gender and media. She was the senior philanthropic advisor at Women for Women International, working closely with the CEO and board of directors, with a focus on principal gifts. From 2007 to 2015, she was at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), managing strategies for SAIS’ board and top donors, working across the university and managing international teams across three continents.

Rogers was a part of the leadership gifts and corporate relations teams at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston during the museum’s successful $500 million capital campaign, and she has over 20 years of experience working in fundraising and institutional philanthropy across the private and non-profit sectors.

Rogers holds a master’s degree in international public policy from Johns Hopkins SAIS, a certificate in management from the Harvard Extension School, and a bachelor’s degree in government and art history from Bowdoin College. She currently serves on the board of trustees for Garrison Forest School.
