Smithsonian Associates will host a special evening with Amy Sherman-Palladino, the creator of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and Dan Palladino, an executive producer who also serves as writer and director, Thursday, Dec. 12, at 6:45 p.m. at the National Museum of American History’s Warner Bros. Theater. In celebration of the show’s Dec. 6 season three premiere on Amazon Prime Video, they will discuss their inspiration behind the creation of the show, their wide-ranging careers in television and what it is like to work together on one of today’s most beloved series.

In its first two seasons, the show centered on a 1950s Manhattan wife and mother who transforms herself into a stand-up comic has gathered far more awards than can fit into a B. Altman shopping bag.

The count includes 16 Emmys, three Golden Globes, five Critics’ Choice Awards, three SAG Awards, two Producers Guild Awards, a Writers Guild of America Award and a Peabody Award.   Last year, Sherman-Palladino made Emmy history with nods for both comedy writing and directing, becoming the first person to achieve that combination of wins.

Ticket prices for the Smithsonian Associates’ presentation are $35 for general admission and $25 for members. For information, the public may call (202) 633-3030 or visit www.smithsonianassociates.org
