Anthony Fauci and Alan Alda Talk Science in Live-Streamed Smithsonian Associates Event

Smithsonian Associates—the world’s largest museum-based education program—will present an exclusive live-streamed event with actor Alan Alda and Dr. Anthony Fauci Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 6:30 p.m. Alda and Fauci will discuss the topic—the COVID-19 pandemic—gripping the country, and there will be a Q&A session after the conversation.

As head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Fauci knows his way around the intricacies of complicated viruses. Alda, host of the Clear+Vivid podcast and co-founder of the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science at Stony Brook University, knows his way around sharing tough scientific topics in clear and engaging ways. Together, they are a perfect pairing to parse the intricacies of the virus that has held the public in sway since March.

Ticket prices are $25 for Smithsonian Associates members and $30 for the general public. Tickets and information are available at www.smithsonianassociates.org.

The program is part of Smithsonian Associates Streaming, a new online learning initiative presenting individual programs, multi-part courses, studio arts classes and virtual study tours offered through a Zoom-supported digital platform.
