Rirkrit Tiravanija: Who’s Afraid of Red, Yellow, and Green

May 17, 2019 – July 24, 2019

Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden
Independence Ave. at 7th St., SW
Washington, DC

On view is the newly acquired full-gallery Who's Afraid of Red, Yellow, and Green (2010), an installation work of relational aesthetics by Rirkrit Tiravanija that unites the artist’s signature culinary work with his ongoing series of drawings derived from protest imagery. Through real-time art creation and periodic food service to museum visitors, the artist challenges ingrained ways of interacting with “art”—all while remaining resolutely accessible and open to a broad public.
