On view in 2 sections are photographs by legendary Magnum photographers that document the events of September 11, 2001. Photographs in Section 1 reflect the individual photographers' responses to the attack. Photographs in section 2 memorialize the World Trade Towers in Manhattan. These 11 photographers—experienced in photographing warfare, violence, and turmoil in Europe, Asia, South American, and Africa—risked their lives to document the horrific events as they unfolded. Organized by Magnum Photos of New York. The American flag found in the rubble of the twin World Trade Towers is also on view.
