IMAX® Theaters & Einstein Planetarium

The Smithsonian's 3 IMAX® theaters have the largest screens in the Washington, DC region and measure up to 6 stories tall! Our giant-screen films offer an immersive experience that complements the museum exhibits.

The Planetarium's 77-foot digital dome theater is the only full-dome cinema in DC. Audiences can journey through time and space to view some of the most extraordinary images not viewable to the naked eye.

Join us for Sci-Fi Sundays at the National Air and Space Museum. Each Sunday afternoon we exhibit a science-fiction feature-length film.
