The Jewelry of Robert Ebendorf: A Retrospective of Forty Years

September 25, 2003 – January 19, 2004

Renwick Gallery
1661 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
Washington, DC

1st Floor

This retrospective features approximately 95 pieces of jewelry and sculpture created over a period of 40 years by Robert Ebendorf, a major American artist in metal. He uses found objects (e.g., crab claws, sea glass) and recycled industrially produced objects (e.g., keys, buttons, beer bottle caps) to create his unique jewelry. Also on view are drawings, sketches, photographs, working notes, and a re-creation of Ebendorf's desk and work space.

Organized by the Art Gallery of North Carolina State University.
