This major exhibition of 130 contemporary works is designed to show the range and breadth of the museum's collection of 20th-century works. The exhibition underscores the complexity of collecting and includes the acquisition of monograph collections, selected works by artists of later note, works by lesser-known artists who deserve to be studied, late works by artists whose early periods are well known, and works representative of activity in various regions in the U.S.
