Some 150 paintings, prints, musical instruments, photographs, clips, and memorabilia create a portrait of the 50-year career of this musician. The exhibition includes art by Stuart Davis, Romare Beardon, and Jacob Lawrence; photographs by Annie Leibovitz, Lisette Model, Garry Winograd, Gordon Parks, Irvin Penn, Phillipe Halsman, and Weegee; and radio and television broadcasts of Armstrong performing with Frank Sinatra, Velma Middleton, Dizzy Gillespie, Bing Crosby, and Barbara Streisand.
