Gallery 6A Floor Plan

As part of the Freer Gallery's celebration of the 100th anniversary of founder Charles Lang Freer's donation of his collection to the nation in 1906, this exhibition showcases 14 tea ceremony ceramics that Freer collected by 1906, with outstanding examples of all 3 classic wares -- raku, hagi, and karatsu. The tea bowls on view include some that have been re-identified through recent research.
