National Museum of African Art
950 Independence Avenue, SW

Sublevel 2 Floor Plan

More than 150 works present the range of objects created by the Baule artists from Cote d'Ivoire, West Africa. The outstanding artistic achievements of Baule artists have long been recognized by Western scholars and connoisseurs. This exhibition contrasts how the Baule experienced these objects and how Western museums have presented them.
