American art in the 1980s, artistic communities, American folk art outsider art, Latino and African American art.


Current Research Projects

Currently managing the Nanette L. Laitman Documentation Project for Craft and Decorataive Arts in America, a five-year project to conduct 100 oral history interviews of prominent America artists working in metal, glass, clay, fiber,and wood and to collect the papers of key figures in the history of American craft.
