Native American Community Scholar Awards -
Appointments in residence at the Smithsonian are awarded to Native Americans
who are formally or informally related to a Native American community,
to undertake projects on a Native American subject and utilize the Native
American resources of the Institution. Please write for applications.
Native American Visiting Student Awards -
Appointments are available for currently enrolled advanced Native American
graduate students who are formally or informally related to a Native
American community. Visiting Students pursue independent research in
association with Smithsonian staff. Stipends are $100 per day for
up
to 21 days and $500 per week for 3 to 10 weeks, a travel allowance
and a small research allowance. Please write for applications
Native American Internship Awards -
Internships in residence at the Smithsonian are awarded to undergraduate
and graduate Native American students who are formally or informally
related to a Native American community, to participate in research
or museum activities related to Native American studies for periods
of
10 weeks. The appointments carry a stipend of $500 per week and a travel
allowance may be provid
