- From NMNH Exhibit Hall "Eternal Life in Ancient Egypt" label for this artifact, 2011: Mummified snake bundle, 332-30 B.C. This rough bundle offers no hint of what it holds: a snake twisted into a figure eight, a popular pose for snake mummies. CT scan also reveals something within the snake itself - a small, half-digested shrew the snake ate before it died.
