Dan Urish is a Senior Fellow
of the Coastal Institute, and Professor Emeritus of the University
of Rhode Island. He received his B.S. in Civil Engineering
from the University of Illinois, his M.S. in Civil Engineering
from the University of Washington, and his Ph.D. in Civil
and Environmental Engineering from the University of Rhode
Island. He has been the recipient of fellowships from the
Smithsonian Institution for Belizean Barrier Reef island research
since 1986. Urish is the author/co-author of over 70 publications
covering hydrologic exploration, development and research.
Research sponsors include National Science Foundation, Sea
Grant, National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration,
National Park Service, U. S. Navy and the U. S. Geological
Survey.
