Taisoo Park received
his Ph.D. in zoology at the University of Washington, Seattle
(1965). After working as research scientist at Woods Hole Oceanographic
Institution, he came to Texas A&M University in 1969. He
retired from teaching at Texas A&M in1992 with a new appointment
as professor emeritus to devote full time to research. Park
worked as research associate at Scripps Institution of Oceanography
from 1992 to 2000 and published 2 monographs on Copepoda. He
became interested in the Antarctic copepods as specimens were
made available from the Smithsonian Oceanographic Sorting Center.
Taisoo has published 7 papers dealing exclusively with taxonomy
and distribution of the Antarctic calanoid copepods.
