Group Sales Packages

Smithsonian’s Group Sales and Reservations department offers group discounts to restaurants, IMAX theaters, planetarium, paid exhibitions and attractions.

Group Menus
Group dining packages are available for breakfast, lunch and dinner at restaurants in the National Museum of American History, National Museum of Natural History, National Museum of the American Indian, National Air and Space Museum, the Smithsonian Castle, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum and National Portrait Gallery. All restaurants have general seating, no reserved seating.

Food Vouchers
The Smithsonian now offers $10, $12, $15 & $20 food vouchers, redeemable at the National Museum of American History, National Museum of Natural History, National Museum of the American Indian, American Art and Portrait Gallery and the Smithsonian Castle. Food vouchers are good towards the full face value of any food item and include a complimentary soft drink or bottled water. Minimum of 10 vouchers per order, no comps. One voucher per transaction, no change given. If face value is exceeded, patron agrees to pay the difference, including tax. Vouchers expire 9/28/13. 2013 vouchers can be exchanged for 2014 vouchers – to qualify, our office must receive unused vouchers no later than 9/26/13.

Wine and Cheese Happy Hours
Indulge in an afternoon wine and cheese happy hour at the Smithsonian. Must be booked at least 72 hours in advance, minimum of 40 people. Available from 3 p.m.-4 p.m. Available at the National Museum of American History and National Museum of Natural History.

Ice Cream Social
Grab an afternoon snack with an ice cream social, available from 3p.m.-4p.m. Choose from four flavors of hand-dipped ice cream and toppings, including sprinkles, peanuts, whipped cream and cookie crumbs. Add premium toppings like brownie bites, bananas, strawberries, hot fudge and caramel sauce for an additional charge. Must be booked at least 72 hours in advance, minimum of 40 people. Available at the National Museum of American History and National Museum of Natural History.

Groups of 10 or more receive discounted admission to our IMAX Theaters and Einstein Planetarium, with one complimentary ticket for every 20 purchased (excludes bulk vouchers). General admission, no reserved seating. Discount available for advanced sales only - no same-day purchases. Restrictions apply.

Bulk IMAX Tickets
Need some flexibility? Groups can also purchase bulk tickets to the IMAX Theater, good for any daytime educational show before the expiration date. Minimum order of 10 (no comps). No reserved seating. Vouchers expire 9/28/13. 2013 vouchers can be exchanged for 2014 vouchers – to qualify, our office must receive unused vouchers no later than 9/26/13.

Title One Outreach
Discounted IMAX tickets are available for Title One schools. Minimum of 40 people. Restrictions apply. Proof of Title One status must accompany order.

IMAX on Demand
Arrange a special morning screening with our IMAX and Planetarium on Demand packages. Choose from any of the films in our IMAX and Planetarium Adventure Library, and screen the film before the museum doors open to the public. IMAX and Planetarium On Demand screenings are offered for groups of 20 or more (40 for Title 1 schools) every morning around 9:15 am (start times vary based on location). Minimum one-week notice is required to book dates and choice of films are subject to availability.

Fly jet-age combat sorties, perform 360-degree barrel rolls and engage in air-to-air combat for a hands-on experience thousands of feet above ground. Groups of 10 or more receive $1 off ticket prices, with one complimentary ticket per 20 purchased.

Butterfly + Plants: Partners in Evolution

Stroll among live butterflies and exotic plants! This tropical oasis offers visitors a rare opportunity to get close to living butterflies from all over the world. Tickets are timed-entry at 15-minute intervals, 40 tickets per timeslot. Groups of 10 or more receive discounts on ticket prices and one complimentary ticket per 20 purchased.
