Smithsonian
National Board
Founded in 1970 to foster communication
between the Institution and its various constituencies, to advise the Secretary on issues
of Institutional advancement and to promote a successful public/private partnership,
the National Board is our premier external advisory body. Members are elected to a
three-year, once-renewable term and are encouraged to attend three meetings
annually. Geographically and culturally diverse in its composition, the Board brings
invaluable counsel to our national museums and research centers.
For
additional information on volunteer structures within a specific
museum or research facility, please contact the corresponding development office.
