Gifts of Objects

The Smithsonian is grateful to those who give items to our collections. The Smithsonian accepts the donation of an object only when an item truly complements the collection. Potential donations are given careful consideration by museum curators, administrators, and directors. The Smithsonian also considers whether we can properly care for an intended donation.
