ZooLights
2nd Annual Winter Lights Celebration |

|
(for all ages) The Zoo's second annual winter lights event is bigger and brighter this season! Some 50 larger-than-life light sculptures, using environmentally friendly LEDs (light emitting diodes), light up the Zoo. Many of the sculptures are based on animals at the Zoo, including the giant pandas, Asian elephants, tigers, and golden lion tamarins. Visitors of all ages can sample hot chocolate, cookies, cider, and other treats; meet animal keepers and learn about the Zoo's enrichment efforts; enjoy musical and theatrical performances; and learn how to save energy at home.
Notes:
• Tickets required for ages 2 and up and are available as follows:
- at the Zoo's Visitor Center, daily, 9 AM-4:30 PM
- at the door on evenings that have not sold out
- online at www.ticketmaster.com, at any Ticketmaster outlet, or by phone through Ticketmaster at 202-397-7328
- for information on ordering group tickets, call 202-633-3034

(1999, 74 min., bandw, Japanese with English subtitles, directed by Masahiro Kobayashi, Japan) This darkly comic, low-budget, improvisatory road film is about a gangster and a cop -- who just happen to be best friends -- on their way to the funeral of a woman who was married to one and the lover of the other. If that doesn't complicate their relationship enough, the body that turns up in the trunk of their car certainly does. Masahiro Kobayashi is present for this program.
