Family Performance Celebrate Thanksgiving: Native Storytelling with Sunny Dooley
and Dovie Thomason: Performances
The museum celebrates Thanksgiving with the following activities:
11:30 AM, 1:30 PM, and 3:30 PM: Native Storytelling: Sunny Dooley (Navajo) shares the Blessing Way stories that have been passed down through her matrilineal clan for generations, incorporating the Dine language into her performances. (1st level, Rasmuson Theater)
12:30 PM and 2:30 PM: Native Storytelling: Dovie Thomason celebrates her Lakota Sioux and Kiowa Apache heritage through traditional stories learned from her grandmother and storytellers of many Native nations -- stories that inspire delight in the spoken word and teach respect. The importance of choices -- whether made by a talkative turtle or a bullying fox -- are at the heart of her stories. (1st level, Rasmuson Theater)
