Kathy Dickerson (Kiowa) demonstrates her beadwork. A descendant of the Kiowa illustrator Silverhorn, she has spent her entire life learning the art, culture, and history of her tribe from Kiowa elders and her father.

Film My Name Is Fame
13th Annual Made in Hong Kong Film Festival
(2006, 94 min., Cantonese with English subtitles, directed by Lawrence Lau) Lau Ching-wan stars as a bitter, washed-up actor who begrudgingly takes an aspiring ingenue (Huo Si-yan) under his wing. Her growing success inspires in him a mixture of jealousy, affection, and a desire to return to the silver screen. Watch for cameo appearances by some of Hong Kong's well-known actors and directors.

Family Workshop Chinese Landscape Painting
Workshop
(suitable for middle-school-age students to adults) Join curator and artist Joseph Chang to learn about the Four Treasures of a Chinese Scholar's Studio, namely, the brush, ink stick, paper, and ink stone. Enjoy a demonstration of basic landscape painting techniques, and then try some of these techniques yourself. No experience necessary.
