Pompeii, Stabiae, Herculaneum, and other nearby communities were the year-round vacation destinations of Roman aristocrats. In this illustrated lecture, Steve Rutledge (associate professor of classics, University of Maryland) discusses the life and culture of this favorite vacation spot of the ancient world.
