(2000, 130 min., directed by Lee Chang-dong, Korean with English subtitles) Ingeniously constructed in reverse chronological order, it covers the years 1979 to 1999, during which South Korea went from military rule to democracy. As he reflects on his life as a former soldier and policeman, he gradually realizes that the mistakes he has made in life are, in fact, irreversible.

Workshop Family ArtLab for Teens
5-Week Studio Program
(for ages 13-18) In this intensive 5-week program, aspiring young artists have an opportunity to interact with peers, artists, and curators, and respond to objects from the collection. Students from local schools, grades 9-12, may apply. No previous art experience is necessary, and all materials are provided by the Hirshhorn.
