English composer Benjamin Britten (1913-1976) received worldwide acclaim for the operas Peter Grimes, Billy Budd, The Turn of the Screw, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Death in Venice. Using visual and audio recordings, Smithsonian music and opera lecturer Saul Lilienstein presents and examines excerpts from Britten's major operas.
