Mounted on a white
marble base, the bell assembly consists of a conical base supporting
a foliated and "C" scroll decorated harp which in turn
supports a plain hemispherical bell. The striking mechanism is
suspended from the harp with the plunger located on top of the
bell in the center. Patent dates stamped on the plunger base:
Apr. 8, 1870, Feb. 3, 1874, Aug. 25, 1863, Aug. 8, 18(illeg. probably
