Using the Logo

Certificates

Smithsonian organizations often award certificates of appreciation or accomplishment to staff, volunteers, interns and others.

Each sample certificate provided here is intended to be a guide. The most important element is the Smithsonian Institution logo featured prominently, at the top of the certificate. The wording on the remainder of the certificate can be changed to reflect language appropriate for your needs.

It is provided here in an .eps graphic file format intended for output by commercial printers. Please note that the gray Sunburst included in this certificate’s layout is strictly for the purpose of creating a heavy outline version of the Sunburst for engraving or foil-stamping; it must not be printed in gray, black or any color other than the gold, silver or bronze engraving or foil-stamping. The border suggested is Smithsonian Blue (see Color), but may be any appropriate color.
