Using the LogoBrochure Covers |
| Use the logo on brochure covers. Care
should be taken in determining how the Sunburst should appear. The blue and yellow, for
instance, should not appear on a blue background. Be sure to read the color guidelines. See hypothetical examples of Lock-ups in use together with Minion and other typefaces, with and without images. The images include photographs of buildings, paintings, sculptures, artifacts, drawings, etc. The examples show that visual variety is easily attainable, while maintaining the consistency of the Smithsonian identity. (This graphic-rich page will take extra time to download.) The Sunburst should never be used alone without the accompanying text. A "Lock-up" is the combination of the Sunburst and text "locked" together in specific proportions and placement in relation to each other. The logo consists of the text accompanied by the Sunburst. Wherever possible, the Lock-up for your museum, research insitute or office should be used. When refering to the Institution as a whole, use either the one-line or two-line format of Lock-up C. |
