The Smithsonian Privacy Officer (SPO) is responsible for developing and implementing privacy policies and procedures to support a privacy program at the Smithsonian. The SPO conducts privacy reviews of Smithsonian programs and initiatives that collect, maintain, or disseminate personally identifiable information (PII); provides general advice on privacy matters; and coordinates with OGC to provide legal advice on privacy issues.
