Travel 220 miles above Earth at 17,500 mph to experience Space Station 3D - the greatest engineering feat since landing a man on the Moon. Space Station 3D is the story of a unique partnership of 16 nations building a laboratory in outer space – it is a story of challenges, setbacks and triumphs, and ultimately, the shared international victory of men and women whose dreams exceed the limits of life on this Earth. Blast off into space with the astronauts and cosmonauts from Florida's Kennedy Space Center and Russia's Baikonur Cosmodrome, and work side by side with their space-walking crewmates, building and inhabiting this unprecedented structure in space.
The “Moving Beyond Earth” at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. has models of the International Space Station as well as Space Station S-1. They give you an understanding of the size and technology of the real space crafts, where astronauts worked and lived.
