RAFAEL LEMAITRE

Rafael Lemaitre
Curator and Chair of Invertebrate Zoology

Rafael Lemaitre is a Research Zoologist, Curator of Crustacea, and Chair of the National Museum of Natural History’s Department of Invertebrate Zoology. Lemaitre holds a B.A. from the Universidad J. Tadeo Lozano, an M.S. degree from Florida International University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Miami. His research specialties are systematics, biology, and zoogeography of decapod crustaceans, especially hermit crabs, worldwide.
