Museum: Archives of American Art
Location: 1st Floor, East, Lawrence A. Fleischman Gallery, Reynolds Center
This Archives of American Art exhibition features numerous items -- from snapshots and sketchbooks to letters and postcards -- that show artists on vacation. Like everyone else, artists view vacation as a time to get away from the grind -- to set out for the beach, mountains, or foreign lands. Getting away, however, doesn't mean leaving the canvas or sketchbook behind; artists are always on the job, and vacations become opportunities for painting, drawing, and studying.
