As part of a year-long celebration of the centenary of Whistler's death in 1903, the exhibition highlights 14 unusually beautiful and rare pastels along with etchings and a watercolor. Whistler completed 90 pastels while in Venice between September 1879 and November 1880, capturing the varied moods of the watery city.
