Visual Music surveys the impact of music on the visual arts over the last 100 years. It shows successive explorations of the idea of synaesthesia -- the experience of one sense evoking another -- in this case, the union of aural and visual senses and how this concept greatly influenced new media and visual culture from the latter 20th century to today. On view are more than 90 examples of works by more than 40 internationally recognized artists of abstract painting, experimental cinema, and multimedia installation.
