On view are photographs of the Harlem community by African American photographer VanDerZee, who is known for the thousands of photographs he took in New York's Harlem during the 1920s and 1930s. The works include portraits of celebrities, community leaders, children and families, brides and grooms, and memorial portraits of the dead.
