The creativity of the German-born emigre is celebrated in a major retrospective exhibition which opens on her 86th birthday. A pioneer in the medium of fine art weaving in the U.S., Albers has concentrated on drawing and printmaking since the 1960s. The 106 works on view are divided almost equally between her textiles and works on paper.
