The World at Our Feet showcases 6 of the finest examples of Persian, Indian, and Turkish carpets from the Corcoran Gallery of Art's collection, most of which have not been seen for 60 years. Carpets on view include examples of the so-called Herat carpets noted for their vine-and-blossom motifs, an octagonal Cairene carpet with carnations and tulips in a central medallion, and a Persian carpet (similar in structure to so-called "Vase" carpets) featuring boldly articulated sickle-shaped leaves and palmettes.
