The Window Show

May 14, 1999 – May 21, 1999

Museum: Cooper-Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum

Location: Off-site

This off-site exhibition celebrates window designers and the design of store windows at 14 of New York City's top stores. This exhibition is on view day and night for one week only in windows at Barney's New York, Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdale's, Burberry, Christian Dior, Geoffrey Beene On The Plaza, Henri Bendel, Housing Works, Lord & Taylor, Macy's, Paul Smith, Paul Stuart, Saks Fifth Avenue, Sherle Wagner, and Sony Style. Each window references a work from one of the museum's four curatorial departments--textiles, wallcoverings, applied arts and industrial design, and drawings and prints.
