American History Museum
14th and Constitution Ave., NW
Location: 1st Floor, West Wing, Showcase
This showcase commemorates the centenary of the birth of the American conservation movement, brought about by fashion's demand for feathers for ladies' hats. The exhibition examines hunting and collecting practices, feather adornment and display, and the beginnings of the Audubon and conservation movements.
