September 19, 1998 – October 25, 1998

S. Dillon Ripley Center
1100 Jefferson Drive, SW
Washington, DC

Sponsor: SITES

Location: International Gallery, Sublevel 3

Trace the social themes found in Delano's work over the last 50 years in these 72 photos, including images of the Depression and Puerto Rican life during and after World War II. Many of these photographs have become important social documents of the New Deal's Farm Security Administration. Having a multifaceted career, Delano (1914-1997) is also known as a filmmaker, composer, and illustrator of children's books.

The exhibition has been organized by the Smithsonian Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES) with the generous support of Banco Popular.
