Museum: Anacostia Community Museum
Location: Main Gallery
This exhibition features 23 iron-cast sculptures ranging from the whimsical to the politically charged. This New Orleans native attributes all his work to what he calls divine inspiration and instinct. Working primarily with concrete and found objects, such as railroad ties and discarded furniture, Smith has created a collection of indoor-outdoor figures based on the human form. The sculptures have become part of the Anacostia Museum's collection as the result of a major donation from The Kohler Foundation, Inc.
