Most of the works are from India, with a few from present-day Bangladesh and present-day Pakistan. The majority of the works are masterpieces and have been in the Freer collection for a number of years, but there are several recently acquired objects as well.

Note: Will reopen May 29, 2004, with new South Asian works.
