Anacostia Community Museum
1901 Fort Place, SE
Washington, DC

Location: Lobby, Anacostia Neighborhood Museum, 2405 Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave., SE

On view is a porcelain doll, 17 inches long, a finely detailed figure of abolitionist Sojourner Truth. She is depicted knitting while seated in a handmade rocker in a setting that includes a table covered with a crocheted doily. The doll, clothing, and setting were made by San Francisco artist Cecilia Rothman.
