Museum: Archives of American Art
Location: Lawrence A. Fleischman Gallery, Reynolds Center, 1st Floor
In this site-specific exhibition, artist Terence Gower weaves together a selection of archival photographs with his drawing on the vaulted ceiling of the gallery to create an installation in dialogue with Norman Foster's glass canopy over the Robert and Arlene Kogod Courtyard (visible through the windows of the Fleischman gallery). The archival photographs were used by Esther McCoy, a Los Angeles-based architecture critic and historian active from the 1950s through the 1970s, to illustrate her writings and were later donated to the Archives.
