This exhibition examines for the first time the complete works of Piranesi (1720-1778) as a designer of architecture, elaborate interiors, and exquisite furnishings and his far-reaching influence on noted architects and designers of yesterday and today. Highlights include more than 100 etchings, original drawings, and prints by the artist; a selection of his decorative objects, ranging from furniture and carriage works to mantles and chimneypieces; and examples of the his architectural drawings juxtaposed with renderings of contemporary architects.
