Location: 2st Floor, West Wing
These 3 temporary exhibition cases celebrate the opening of the American Indian Museum on the Mall and feature a Jefferson Peace Medal given by the Lewis and Clark expedition to an Osage leader in 1803, a wearing blanket in the design of the American flag made by a Navajo women to commemorate her son's service in World War I, a saddle made in the late 19th century by Indian students in a federal boarding school, and a poster from the Red Power movements of the 1960's.
