A "China Poblana" dress (the national costume of Mexico) worn by "San Antonio's First Lady of Song" Rosita Fernandez; a "bata" Cubana (a reworking of a traditional Cuban rumba dress) worn by "Queen of Salsa" Celia Cruz; a black leather jacket, black leather pants, and black satin bustier worn by Tejana musician Selena; and a black evening dress accented with embroidered walnut-colored roses designed by Hispanic American designer Louis Estevez represent the different ways in which Latinos have adapted traditions from their native countries into North American culture.
