Forty-four paintings and 2 illuminations from the Padshahnama, a 17th-century imperial Indian manuscript, are on view publicly for the first time. The illuminations and illustrations chronicle the first decade of the reign of Mughal dynasty Emperor Shah Jahan (r. 1627-1658), builder of the Taj Mahal. Works on loan from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of England from the collection of the Royal Library, Windsor Castle.
