History in the News: Collecting September 11

September 11, 2003 – March 4, 2004

Museum: American History Museum

Location: 2nd Floor, across from First Ladies exhibition

On display are several recent additions to the museum's September 11 collection, including a pair of dusty boots worn by former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani as he visited the site of the World Trade Center in the days after the attack, a column of reinforcing steel that was recovered from the Pentagon, a U.S. Army standard-issue black beret belonging to an unidentified lieutenant colonel, and a flight attendant's procedures manual and logbook recovered from the crash site in Pennsylvania.
